High School Results from Thursday:
–Butler high school cross country runner Noah Beveridge won the WPIAL Class 3A Championship at Cooper’s Lake Campground. Beveridge ran the course in 15:47 and led the Golden Tornado to a second place finish. Seneca Valley won the team event, led by Seth Ketler, who was the runner-up behind Beveridge. Seneca Valley’s Sam Owon was sixth. Butler’s Brett Brady was ninth.
WPIAL Girls Soccer Quarterfinals:
–Mars defeated Franklin Regional 4-1 and will face South Park Monday in the 3A semifinals.
–Freeport defeated Quaker Valley 3-1 and will meet Waynesburg in the Class 2A semifinals Monday.
–Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic shutout OLSH 3-0 and will meet Greensburg Central Catholic in the 1A semifinals Monday.
–North Allegheny defeated Pine-Richland 2-0. N.A. will face Norwin in the 4A semifinals Monday.
The Knoch Girls Tennis team will meet Wyomissing today in the PIAA Class 2A Team quarterfinals. The match will be played at the Harrisburg Racquet Club at 2pm. In 3A: Pine-Richland will face Hamilton.
Boys Soccer Semifinals Saturday:
1A: Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic will meet Winchester Thurston at Mars high school at 1pm.
4A:–North Allegheny will meet Canon-McMillan at Mars high school at 3pm.
–Pine-Richland will face Peters Township at West Allegheny high school at 4pm.
First Round of the WPIAL Girls Volleyball Playoffs:
–Oakland Catholic-3 Butler-0. First time Butler appeared in the playoffs in 10 years.

–Deer Lakes-3 Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic-2.
The BC3 Volleyball team is hosting the National Junior College Athletic Association Region-20 tournament as part of the national championship playoffs Saturday. BC3 is the two-time defending Regional champion. Other teams competing are Howard Community College of Columbia, Maryland, Montgomery County Community College of Pottstown and Pennsylvania Highlands Community College of Johnstown.
