High School Sports:
Another big day for the Butler Girls Track & Field team during a wet Monday afternoon as they defeated Pine Richland 94-56. Alli Morrow won the 100, 200 and the 4×100 relay events with Chloe Weiland, Justine Forbes and Aubrey Rock. Rock won the Long Jump and was second in the 100 and the Triple Jump. Ella Rekich won the 400-meter run, while Adrya Baxter won the 300 Hurdles. The Golden Tornado swept the field events, with Grace Nichols winning the High Jump, Megan Baggetta won the Triple Jump,Carlie Baker won the Discus and Megan Penrod the Javelin. Ashlyn Holt rounded out the first place finishers with a victory in the Pole Vault. With the victory – the Girl’s team moves to 3-0 in WPIAL AAA Section-3.
Baseball:
–Moniteau-8 Karns City-1. Brock Matthews and Branson Carson combined for a two-hitter for Moniteau. Matthews added three hits, drove in three and scored twice.
Girls Lacrosse:
–Butler-14 Fairview-7. Evelynn Vissari led Butler with six goals. Bree Dittman added three. Lauren LeGrand had 11 saves in net.
Softball:
–Shaler-15 Mars-3 in five innings.
–Hempfield-7 Seneca Valley-2.
