WPIAL Girls Soccer Playoffs:
–Mars has reached the Class 3A championship game following a 2-1 victory over South Park. Gracie Dunaway, a freshman for Mars, booted the game-winner. (she is one of four freshman who start for Mars). Sophomore Taylor Hamlett scored teh first Mars goal. The Planets improved to 16-1 overall and will meet Moon in the title game later this week. Moon defeated Montour 3-0 to improve to 21-0.
In Class 2A: Freeport was shutout by Waynesburg 7-0.
In Class 1A: Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic was defeated by Greensburg Central Catholic 1-0.
In Class 4A: Norwin ousted North Allegheny 2-0.
The Karns City Boys and Girls Soccer teams play for the District-9 2A championships tonight. The Karns City Girls will face Clearfield at 5pm. The Boys will meet St. Mary’s at 7pm. Both games are being played at Brockway high school.

–North Allegheny will meet Peters Township at North Hills high school at 7:30pm.
–Armstrong will face Upper St. Clair at ##Fox Chapel high school at 7:30pm.
Class 3A:
–Knoch will face Elizabeth Forward at **North Allegheny high school at 6pm.
Class 2A:
–Freeport will meet Deer Lakes at ##Fox Chapel high school at 6pm.
The WPIAL football playoff match-ups have been released for this Friday.
In 6A:
–top-seeded Pine-Richland (10-0) will host Norwin (5-5).
–North Allegheny (7-3) will visit Mt. Lebanon (6-4).
In 4A:
–Mars (6-4) will visit Belle Vernon (9-0).
In 3A:
–Freeport (7-2) will travel to Seton LaSalle (8-1).
In 2A:
–Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic (8-2) will host Brentwood (5-4).
