High School Sports:
Baseball:
–Knoch-10 North Hills-0 in five innings. Lance Cotton pitched 4-plus innings to earn the win for the Knights. Tucker Scully came in to finish things off, inducing a triple play line drive on his third pitch to get out of a 1st & 2nd, no-out jam.
Offensively, the Knights were led by Isaac Love, who had three hits, 1 run, and 1 RBI. Ethan Sloane added two hits (a double and a triple), and also scored once and drove in one. Guy DeLeonardis has two hits (including a double), scored a run, and added 2 RBI’s.
The Knights begin section play on Wednesday at Pullman Park against Derry. Game time is set for 5:30. Knoch is 3-0.

–Penn Trafford-13 Pine-Richland-2.
–Redbank Valley-11 Karns City-1 in five innings.
–DuBois-16 Grove City-5 in five innings.
Junior Varsity:
–Butler-8 Gateway-7 in eight innings. Gateway had scored three runs in the seventh to tie the game. After Gateway score the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth, Butler scored a run – then won the game on a squeeze-play. Mattix Clement led Butler with two hits and scored twice. Hayden Thompson earned the win.
Softball:
–Norwin-5 Butler-0.
–Knoch-10 Ambridge-9.
–Mars-14 Woodland Hills-1 in five innings. Kali Harris and Danielle Bednar combined to throw a no-hitter for the Planets, with eight strikeouts and no walks. The Planets did commit one error, taking away a perfect game.
–Karns City-11 Redbank Valley-4.
–AC Valley-17 Keystone-2 in three innings.
–Pine-Richland-6 North Hills-5.
Boys Volleyball:
–North Allegheny-3 Butler-0.
–Seneca Valley-3 North Hills-0.
–North Catholic-3 Mars-0.
Girls Lacrosse:
–Mars-11 Blackhawk-10 in overtime.
