Wrestling:
–Seneca Valley defeated Franklin Regional 59-10 in the opening round, then defeated Thomas Jefferson 42-20 in the quarterfinals.
–The Butler wrestling team fell to Thomas Jefferson 36-34 in the first round of the WPIAL 3A team playoffs.
Boys Basketball:
–Shady Side Academy defeated Freeport 62-45.
Bowling:
–Senior Blaine Hooks led Butler with a career-high 618 series last night at Family Bowlaway. Senior Chris Huff added a 602. The Butler Boys improved to 9-0 and will meet North Allegheny next Wednesday in their final regular season match for the North Section title.
–Junior Rachael Blose led the Butler Girls with a 570 series. Junior Reegan Malis added a 547. Junior Lauren Bash had a high game of 209. The Butler Girls are also 9-0 and have already clinched the WPIBL North Section with one match remaining.
–Freeport swept Kiski Area. The Freeport Boys defeated Kiski 5-2. Mark Livingston led the Yellow Jackets with a 734 series on games of 246-247-246. The Freeport Girls won 7-0. Julia Cummings led the Yellow Jackets with a 621 series and high game of 214.
–Shaler swept Mars 7-0.
