High School Sports Results from Tuesday:
Boys Basketball:
–Butler defeated Seneca Valley 92-83 for the Golden Tornado’s first section victory of the season. Devin Carney led Butler with 39 points. David Leslie added 19. Cole Brooks led the Raiders with 25 points.
–North Allegheny defeated Pine-Richland 56-48.
–Freeport defeated Derry 59-46. Cole Charlton led the Yellow Jackets with 16 points.
–Mars defeated North Hills 84-55 in a non-section game. Mihali Sfanso led the Planets with 30 points.
The Knoch-Keystone Oaks game was postponed due to a teachers strike at K.O.
Girls Basketball:
–North Allegheny defeated Butler 71-45.
–Shaler defeated Seneca Valley 69-52.
The Freeport Hockey team remained unbeaten following a 6-1 victory last night over Fox Chapel. Tyler Lang stopped 20 of 21 shots on net to also remain unbeaten. Keith Smilowitz scored two goals and had an assist. Jack Mason scored twice. Cole Mitchell had four points with a goal and three assists. Nico DiSanti had a goal and an assist. Addison Stewart had four assists. The Yellow Jacket ice-men are now 6-0.
The Freeport Bowlers split with Franklin Regional. The Girls won 7-0. Amber Cepec led the Yellow Jackets with a 614 series. The Boys fell 4-3.
The Butler Bowlers host North Allegheny today for Senior Day at Family Bowlaway. A livestream will be available on the teams’ Facebook pages.
