There is some much-needed warmer temperatures coming into the area starting this weekend.
But, it comes as the region has experienced one of the coldest winters in decades.
The average temperature for the meteorological winter has been 24.1 degrees. That is only the fourth winter on-record with an average temperature below 25 degrees. The last time it was this cold was the winter of 1978-1979.
However, this weekend temperatures will rise into the 40s, and we’ll see highs in the 50s next week.
