A man is recovering following a home invasion that ended with a shooting earlier this week in Butler.
Butler City Police were called out to the 300 block of Sterling Avenue just before 5 p.m. Wednesday for a burglary in progress.
43-year-old Nathan Harvey of Butler was found to have entered the residence through a locked basement door. A male and female resident were at home at the time. The male resident had a gun and allegedly gave repeated warnings to Harvey before he shot Harvey in the abdomen.
Harvey was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injury and was held for observation of an unrelated issue. He will be arrested for felony burglary upon release. The investigation into this incident is ongoing but it appears that no charges will be filed against the resident.
