A new law passed by the State House would set up the first statewide rules for electric scooters.
The bipartisan bill passed the House this week, and it creates universal safety standards for e-scooters.
The bill would provide new ways to easily report violations, and add stronger penalties for non-compliance against both riders and operators.
It would also give municipalities the ability to approve shared e-scooter programs.
The bill moves to the state senate.
