The House Ethics Committee has issued a report after a year’s long investigation into Rep. Mike Kelly’s wife purchase of stock into a local company.
The report said it did not find any evidence of Kelly committing insider trading with his wife but did say that tariffs called for by Kelly with the Trump administration while his wife held Cleveland Cliffs stock did violate the code of conduct.
Although the committee did not accuse Kelly of any further wrong doing they say they did not receive full cooperation from Kelly’s wife.
The investigation that began in July 2021 and reviewed over 25,000 pages of documents did recommend Kelly’s wife divestment of any stock in Cleveland Cliffs.
