Tuesday is International Talk Like a Pirate Day and some local students will have the chance to celebrate the occasion.
Students at Mars Area Elementary School will be able to wear pirate hats and eye patches as well as discover their pirate names and use a compass to follow treasure maps.
Teachers are also planning pirate themes for math, reading, and social studies activities.
International Talk Like a Pirate Day began in 1995 to engage students in education as well as raise funds for charity organizations.
