Patients were evacuated from Independence Health System’s Crossroads Campus earlier this morning after smoke was seen in the building.
The call came in around 8:45 a.m. for the report of smoke on the third floor of the health system’s building on Route 38.
Dispatchers say an evacuation was underway, as there were patients in the building at the time.
Crews determined the issue to be with the boiler system.
