Independence Health System is partnering with local schools in an effort to address a shortage in the healthcare workforce.
Independence announced a new “Healthcare Pathways Career Readiness Program,” which is a new collaboration between the Butler Area School District, Butler County Community College, and the health system.
The pathway program establishes a “structured school-to-work pre-apprenticeship” which will give students a wide range of experiences in healthcare settings.
Students will also have a chance to earn college credits or a direct path to employment.
