Due to federal cuts to the Affordable Care Act health insurance rates in Pennsylvania will hike.
Individual enrollees will see an average increase of just under 16 percent while small business (small group market) will see a 10 percent increase.
The increase is due to congress failing to reauthorize enhanced premium tax credits for 2026 and beyond leading to more people dropping their coverage.
Also increased Medicaid work requirements has led to people dropping coverage but still needing treatment passing costs on to hospitals and those paying a premium.
