Polls open at 7 a.m. this morning for Election Day.
Most ballots are jam-packed with judicial races, municipality elections, and four ballot questions for voters to decide.
At a local level, the Court of Common Pleas race has received a lot of attention. The primary contest features current District Attorney Rich Goldinger and local attorney Joe Kubit. A write-in effort is being led by Jennifer Gilliland-Vanasdale, who will be on the ballot as an independent in the fall.
A few District Magistrate seats are also up for grabs. With the retirement of David Kovach in Cranberry, William O’Donnell in Slippery Rock, and Wayne Seibel in Evans City, multiple candidates are vying for the spots.
The first two ballot questions deal with emergency powers of the governor and whether or not the legislature should have more of a voice dealing with disaster declarations.
We’ll have full Election Night coverage beginning at 9 p.m. on WISR and WBUT.
