A Western Pennsylvania university is changing course on its mask mandate for the fall semester.
Indiana University of Pennsylvania originally said back in June that all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status, would have to wear a mask indoors.
Now, IUP officials say that masks are optional for people, although they encourage unvaccinated students to mask up.
They also cited the relatively low level of transmission in Indiana County as a reason for the new policy.
