Main Street in downtown Butler is expected to close for a few hours today for the Jeep event.
Starting at 3pm, Main Street will be closed to thru traffic and isn’t expected to reopen until at least 10pm.
That’s not the only place to expect traffic today. Throughout the afternoon, participants in both the parade and ‘Jeep Invasion’ will be staging at the Pittsburgh Butler Regional Airport in Butler. At least 500 Jeeps are registered for the parade with 1,000 Jeeps registered to be parked downtown following the parade.
Parade participants will start heading for Main Street at 4pm with the Jeep drivers who will stay and be parked downtown following.
The parade will head north on Route 8 for the six mile ride. At that time, the right lane on Route 8 North will be closed to any other traffic.
