Jefferson Township supervisors have approved a tax increase to help support local emergency services.
At their monthly meeting on Monday, supervisors for the township approved a half mil-EMS tax increase.
According to township officials the increase will cost property owners on average less than $10 a year.
Officials with the township say the increase will help support local EMS services in the area.
The board also didn’t vote on a half mill fire hydrant tax increase that would have only applied to home owners with fire hydrants outside their home.
