For the first time in a long time, visitors are invited to a Snowshoe Saturday at Jennings Environmental Education Center.
In order for this event to be held, there has to be enough snow on the ground and this weekend there will be so the center will offer this activity from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Those who would like to borrow snowshoes need to present a valid driver’s license or state issued ID (for each adult or one per family). Plus all snowshoes must stay in the park and must be returned before 3 p.m.
A brief tutorial and snowshoe fitting will take place before heading out onto the trail. Those planning to attend are advised to wear regular winter boots and dress in layers as well as bring head and hand coverings. Water and snacks are also recommended.
