The Pennsylvania Game Commission says there should be plenty of pheasants available for harvest as the new season kicks off.
Statewide junior pheasant hunting season begins this Saturday in Pennsylvania followed by hunters of all ages on October 25th.
The Game Commission plans to stock around 215,000 pheasants through January. A stocking location map is available online.
Officials also say this year will include Sunday hunting for pheasants through November 28th and then again the week before Christmas and the day after Christmas through the end of February.
Pheasant permits cost just under $27 and need to be signed and carried while hunting along with a general hunting license.
