A Karns City man found guilty of assaulting a woman two years ago was sentenced last week.
Police say 33-year-old Joseph Parker assaulted a woman at a home on Spruce Road with the barrel of a gun in March 2023. Parker was also accused of grabbing the woman by the throat and threatening to kill her if she told the police.
Troopers found over 200 rounds of ammunition and several knives at Parkers home during the investigation into the assault.
Parker was found guilty on 21 of 29 charges and was sentenced to 10 to 24 years of imprisonment with 12 months of probation upon his release.
According to court records, Parker has filed a notice of appeal to the Superior Court.
