High School Football Scores from the weekend—Karns City wins District title:
–The Karns City football team won the District 9 Class 2A championship Friday night following a 42-14 win over Central Clarion. The Gremlins forced five turnovers to win their first title since 2021 and knock off the three-time defending champions. The Gremlins will get to host a PIAA opening round game this Friday when they host District 10 champion Farrell at 7pm.
–The North Catholic football team defeated Elizabeth Forward 55-32 Friday night in the WPIAL Class 3A Quarterfinals. Trojans quarterback Joey Felitsky was 13-of-15 for 263 yards and five touchdown passes. North Catholic will meet undefeated Avonworth this Friday in the WPIAL Semifinals. Avonworth defeated Freeport 56-7 in their Quarterfinal game. This week’s game will be played at North Allegheny high school at 7pm.
–Redbank Valley defeated Union/AC-Valley 35-21 Saturday in the District 9 Class 1A Semifinals.
