Police have charged a man after it’s alleged he stole a bracelet worth nearly $5,000 in Cranberry Township.
On December 18, Police were called to Kay Jewelers located in the Cranberry Mall for the theft of a bracelet.
According to police, 37-year-old George Tarnovan walked into the store and asked an employee to show him different bracelets. As the employee took out the jewelry, Tarnovan laid out large amounts of cash on the counter, eventually covering the bracelet.
When Tarnovan went to pick up the money the bracelet was hidden under the cash and he was able to leave the store with the bracelet valued at $4,500.
Tarnovan has been charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property. He’s awaiting a preliminary hearing.
