The Pittsburgh Pirates fell to the St. Louis Cardinals last night 7-4. Mitch Keller struggled for the first time in a while for the Bucs, allowing a season-high six runs, five earned in five innings. The Cardinals offense was propelled by a grand slam by Nolan Gorman.
Andrew McCutchen and Jack Suwinski both homered for the Bucs.
The Pirates are back at it tonight with Jared Jones on the mound. First pitch is at 6:40 p.m. and can be heard on WISR.
The Pirates are also set to recall outfielder Josh Palacios. The 28-year-old spent most of the year on the injured list in AAA, but was hitting .311 with a home run in his brief time with the Indianapolis Indians.
Palacios played 91 games last year for the Pirates, where he hit .239 with 10 home runs.
