An Armstrong County woman was recently scammed out of over $1,000.
Police say the incident happened in July of this year when a 61-year-old woman from Kittanning was scammed out of $1,500 in North Buffalo Township. The woman was thought she was signing up for a government federal grant program.
The woman bought gift cards and sent them over Facebook to someone she did not know.
Police are still investigating to the crime.
