55-year old amateur golfer Sean Knapp won the Tri-State PGA open at New Castle Country Club Tuesday, with birdies on four on a five-hole stretch on the back nine. It was his first victory in the event. Devin Gee of Oakmont finished one stroke back. Amateur Rick Stimmel, who led after the opening round, finished tied for third. Butler Country Club’s Rob McClellan fired a round of -2 under 70 to finish tied for 12th, after an opening day 77 Monday. Sport played a big role in these individuals’ lives!
