High school musical season around the Butler County area continues this weekend with performances from a couple more local schools.
Students at Knoch School District will perform their annual musical “Something Rotten” this Friday and Saturday beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Knoch High School Auditorium along with a Sunday matinee at 2.
Director Jen Bronder is very excited about this year’s group of student performers.
“We’ve been very fortunate to have wonderful students who give their hearts and passion to this. I’m really proud of the work they’ve put in. They’re a very special group,” Bronder said. “This show is so fun. It’s very funny and very irreverent; people are going to have a great time. It’s totally different than anything we’ve ever done and we’re really excited to bring that to everyone.”
The Mars Area School District will stage “Grease” with 7:30 p.m. shows on Friday and Saturday, as well as a 1 p.m. matinee show Saturday in the Auditorium. Reserved seating tickets are $12 with more information on the Mars district’s website.
Also, the Mars Musical Theatre Boosters are selling Grease t-shirts with proceeds benefitting the Elizabeth Forward School District’s music department which sustained damage during a fire last month.
