WPIAL girls basketball playoffs Tuesday:
–Knoch defeated Belle Vernon 55-28 in their Class 4A First Round game. Karlee Buterbaugh and Neah Ewing combined for 25 points to lead Knoch. The Knights will travel to Elizabeth Forward Friday night at 7pm in the Quarterfinal round.
–South Fayette eliminated Mars 55-36 in the Class 5A First Round.
–The North Hills girls defeated Plum 69-40 last night to win their first WPIAL playoff game since 1979. The victory sends them into the quarterfinals Friday against undefeated Oakland Catholic.
