Long-time Nascar driver Kurt Busch has retired from the sport as a driver. Busch announced his decision during the Cup Series weekend in Daytona. The 2004 champion won 34 races during his Cup career, the most recent coming last year at Kansas Speedway, just weeks before he suffered a concussion in a practice crash at Pocono Raceway. Busch said in his retirement announcement that he has not recovered from the accident enough to drive a Cup car again. He had been driving for 23Xi Racing, owned by Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan.
