The man who was charged with the death of four-year-old Bentley Miller has pled guilty to murder.
22-year-old Jordan Lambing of Butler reached a plea deal with the District Attorney’s office Monday morning. In the deal, he pled guilty to multiple felonies, including the third-degree murder of Miller in 2017.
Assistant District Attorney Terri Schultz prosecuted the case.
“We took into consideration the wishes of the family, especially Bentley’s father and the paternal grandmother” Schultz said. “They didn’t want to relive this tragic event. We talked to them and decided they could live with this.”
“It’s really what they felt comfortable with. That’s why we [made this deal],” Schultz said.
Lambing agreed to spend 30 to 60 years in prison as part of the plea deal. Schultz stressed that the 30 years minimum is a requirement to serve.
“In Pennsylvania, 30 years means 30 years,” Schultz said. “A lot of people are speculating he’s going to get out early. He isn’t.”
Schultz said Lambing’s sentencing hearing will be next week.
