A large donation from a local bank will allow Butler County Community College to offer educational programs for students in elementary school as well as high school.
Farmers National Bank of Emlenton recently made a $17,000 gift through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program to the College’s Education Foundation.
Some of that money will be used for BC3’s Stock Market Game which teaches financial literacy to nearly 1,700 students as young as fourth grade in seven different counties.
The rest of the donation will be put towards BC3’s College within the High School Program that offers college-level courses in a variety subjects as well as study, note taking, and time-management skills. This program allowed over 900 sophomores, juniors and seniors to earn transferrable credits last year.
