Nine more people have died locally at Butler Memorial Hospital in less than a week as a result of serious COVID-19 symptoms.
The hospital reported one COVID-related death to the state on Thursday.
The hospital reported four COVID-related deaths to the state on Friday.
The hospital reported one COVID-related death to the state on Saturday.
The hospital reported three COVID-related deaths to the state on Sunday.
This brings the total number of deaths at Butler Memorial Hospital reported by the Butler Health System in the month of September to 18. This is the highest number of deaths in one month since January when the vaccine was not available to most people.
According to the Butler Health System, as of Thursday morning 37 patients were hospitalized at Butler Memorial Hospital with eight of those in the ICU.
