Four more people have died locally over the past week as a result of serious COVID-19 symptoms as Butler Memorial Hospital experiences a surge “that is as significant as any previous”.
The hospital reported two COVID-related deaths to the state on Tuesday.

According to the Butler Health System, as of Monday morning 70 patients were hospitalized at Butler Memorial Hospital with 13 of those in the ICU. This 25 more hospitalized as well as five more COVID patients in the ICU compared to last Monday.
There are currently no shortages of supplies or equipment; however elective surgeries could be delayed based on evaluation by the hospital’s surgical team.
