A student in the Mars Area School District is nominated for an award after coming back from a serious accident almost two years ago.
Freshman Paige Lauten has been nominated for the Western PA Positive High School Athlete Award.
Lauten was seriously injured when she was hit by a vehicle near the high school in November 2022.
Since that time she has worked to comeback as a member of the high school softball team.
