State lawmakers in Harrisburg have passed legislation that will provide further protections to children using A.I. chat bots.
The bill would build guidelines for age-appropriate standards for online chatbots.
It will require safeguards to prevent self-harm, suicide, violence against others, and provide resources whenever “high-risk language is detected.”
The bill passed in the State Senate with bipartisan support by a vote of 49 to 1. The bill has now been referred to the Communications and Technology house Committee.
