The federal lawsuit filed by Butler County, other municipalities, and regional businesses against Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine continued on Wednesday.
A large portion of the online hearing that began at 9:30 a.m. and stretched until 5 p.m. focused on testimony from Sam Robinson who has been Wolf’s Deputy Chief of Staff for the past two years.
Local attorney Tom King questioned Robinson on behalf of the plaintiffs who also include US Representative Mike Kelly and several state reps about forced business closures due to COVID-19 as well as the process of granting waivers to certain businesses while rejecting others.
The next step in this process will be post-hearing briefs to begin with presentation by the plaintiffs beginning Monday, August 3rd. The defendants will then have until August 19th to respond.
