The Butler Area Public Library is engaging the community with a contest as well as helping those in need with a collection.
Crafty adults are invited to participate in a gingerbread haunted house contest beginning tomorrow. Photo submissions will be accepted until October 18th. Voting will take place in person and online from October 21st to 25th with a winner announced October 28th.
Also beginning tomorrow, the library is accepting donations of non-perishable, non-expired food as part of the Butler SUCCEED Stick a Fork in Hunger! IZE on Food Security project. IZE week, observed October 17th through 23rd, is a week to REALIZE, EMPATHIZE, and MOBILIZE regarding local food issues. This collection will continue until October 22nd.
The Butler Area Public Library will be closed on Monday, October 11th to allow for a staff in-service training day.
