Residents of Center Township will see water system infrastructure improvements as a result of a low-interest loan through the state.
Pennsylvania American Water Company has been approved for just over $25,000 through the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (also known as PENNVEST), which awards money for major infrastructure improvement projects.
According to local lawmakers Marci Mustello and Aaron Bernstine, the funding will allow the upgrading of the Fisher, Brewster and Brewster Booster pump stations. The project also includes the addition of an underground equalization tank at Fisher and an above-ground EQ tank at Brewster, and the installation of new pumps as well as emergency generators.
PENNVEST provides grants and low interest loans for design, engineering, and construction of publicly and privately owned water distribution and treatment facilities, as well as stormwater and wastewater projects.
