Local high schools will be back on the hardwood this week as many of them participate in local holiday tournaments. The Butler Golden Tornado will play in the Holiday Bash at North Allegheny – facing Bishop Canevin this afternoon at 4:30 – WBUT airtime is 4:20. Then on Thursday, Butler will host Erie at 7:30 – WBUT airtime is 7:20
The Butler Girls will be hosting their holiday round robin facing Hempfield Tuesday night at 6:30, and then Oakland Catholic Wednesday night at 6:30.
The Knoch boys and girls will participate in the Kiski Holiday tournament Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – with both boys and girls games broadcast on WISR. The first game Tuesday afternoon will have the Knoch Girls facing Ligonier Valley at 3 pm, while the boys will play Ligonier Valley at 4:30. The Boys and Girls will face host Kiski on Wednesday, and then face Yough on Thursday.
Freeport Tournament Boys – Tuesday – Slippery Rock vs Freeport (6:30), Wednesday – Slippery Rock vs Redbank Valley (5 pm), Freeport vs Plum (6:30).
The Moniteau boys will play tonight and tomorrow in the Mercer Tournament – facing the host team tonight at 7:30
Seneca Valley’s boys are playing in the Moon Tournament Tuesday and Wednesday night starting against Norwin at 6 pm Tuesday.
On the girls plate the Lady Raiders will face South Fayette in the Bethel Park tournament at 1 pm this afternoon, then face Moon tomorrow afternoon at 4:30
The Mars Planet boys are playing three games at the Pensacola Beach, Florida starting tonight. The Lady Planets are staying a bit closer to home and will face Highlands Tuesday night at 4:30 in the Highlands Tournament.
