A couple of local companies are among those receiving state funding to switch to electric vehicles.
The PA Department of Environmental Protection recently awarded an Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant of $120,000 to T.C. Recycling LLC.
A second grant of $120,000 will go to Vogel Disposal Service. This money will allow each company to replace six garbage trucks which are among the biggest consumers of gasoline with renewable natural gas alternatives.
The DEP awarded a total of $3 million to fund 28 projects including electric vehicle chargers as well as electric, renewable natural gas, or propane vehicles.
