The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler will contract with a local company for the repair of bricks at one of their rental units.
The Authority’s board has accepted a bid proposal from Young Masonry for the repair of the parapet located at 330 Virginia Avenue in the amount of $4,000. This was the lowest of three bids received.
Authority administrators became aware last month that the decorative bricks and mortar near the roof of the building were crumbing and falling onto the building’s porch and into the nearby street.
Workers with the small, family company based in Butler are expected to begin the project next week. The authority has six apartments in that building with two of those currently occupied.
