A local company is among those receiving state funding to switch to electric vehicles.
The PA Department of Environmental Protection recently awarded a Medium and Heavy Duty Zero-Emission Vehicle Pilot Grant of over $523,000 to SQ Trucking, Inc.
This money will allow the Butler and Westmoreland County company to replace four home delivery step vans with battery electric vehicles.
The DEP awarded a total of nearly $40 million to fund 16 projects with a goal of improving air quality by transitioning from older high pollution diesel engines to clean transportation technology.
