Three local food distribution events are planned for this weekend.
Orchard Hill Church is partnering with the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank for a distribution from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The distribution will be a drive-thru style in the Orchard Hill parking lot. No registration is required.
Christ’s Family Church in Chicora plans to give away free food in the parking lot on West Slippery Rock Street. Boxes containing meat, milk, fruit and vegetables, will be distributed to those who meet income guidelines Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. until everything is gone.
Another distribution is also planned for Saturday in neighboring Lawrence County beginning at 8:30 a.m. at The Towne Mall Cascade Galleria Plaza in New Castle. Volunteers will load boxes of fresh milk provided by Marburger Dairy, as well as frozen meat, fresh produce and nutritious shelf-stable groceries into the vehicles of families in need.
