A Renfrew man is facing numerous charges in connection with an alleged rape of an injured woman last week.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Penn Township Police Department, 63-year-old Lewis Lauschus is being charged with felony rape as well as several misdemeanor charges.
A woman called 911 last Friday and seemed confused so an ambulance crew was dispatched. The woman told the ambulance crew that she had fallen five days earlier and spent much of the time since in bed and in pain.
An investigation of the woman’s body found injuries inconsistent with a fall. An interview with the victim allegedly identified Lauschus as being the person responsible for those injuries as well as a rape.
