Several local police departments will be receiving recognition for outstanding efforts to increase road safety by AAA East Central later this week.
The Butler, Cranberry Township, and Grove City Police Departments along with PA State Police Troop D in Butler will be awarded Wednesday at noon at the Pittsburgh Marriott North in Cranberry for their efforts in the Community Traffic Safety Program.
The goal of this AAA Community Safety Awards Program is to reduce the number of fatalities by conducting educational presentations and promotional campaigns that encourage safe driving habits.
A total of over 60 Western Pennsylvania Departments will receive honors through this program.
