A community in southern Butler County has temporarily closed a pool after several children who recently swam there became ill.
According to a posting on the Adams Ridge website, eight children who swam at the Adams Ridge Pool in Adams Twp. on May 31st have or are currently experiencing gastrointestinal cramping and diarrhea. Two of those children tested positive for C-Diff and E-Coli infection.
As a result, the pool has been closed through the end of Thursday. A full inspection of the pool was conducted on Tuesday by the Butler County Health Department and the Pool Maintenance Company. Samples of the water are being tested for harmful bacteria.
Results are expected within the next two to three days and will be posted to the Adams Ridge website as soon as they are received. The pool is regularly tested throughout the summer and lab results from a water test last Thursday (6/3) showed no traces of bacteria.
