A nearby section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike will reopen to motorists on Monday after being closed this weekend for a bridge replacement.
Crews have been working on replacing a bridge in the section of the turnpike between the New Castle and Cranberry Interchanges (exits 10 and 28) since late Friday night.
According to our news partners at WPXI, a traditional bridge replacement on the turnpike would take up to one and a half years. However, the current project will last only four days due to new construction techniques.
A detour utilizing Routes 276, 80, and 79 have been heavily traveled by motorists during the closure.
This portion of the PA Turnpike will reopen at 4am on Monday.
