Several local schools will receive state funding as part of an annual grant program that looks to help with youth agricultural projects.
Through the Ag and Youth program, the Butler Area School District will receive $25,000 for a secondary greenhouse project.
The Seneca Valley School District will receive $7,500 to create and maintain a living laboratory and school garden while Moniteau School District has also been awarded just over $7,000 for horticultural upgrades.
These ag education programs are part of a half million dollars distributed to 58 organizations in 29 counties statewide through the PA Farm Bill. More information is available through the Department of Agriculture website.
