A local student has received recognition as one of the winners of a contest regarding drug awareness.
Attorney General Michelle Henry recently announced that St. Wendelin Catholic School fifth-grader Lily Tirk created an original piece of art with a drug-free message that will be used on the cover of the 2025 Drug-Free Calendar.
As part of being designated as a winner, Tirk will receive a certificate and a $529 contribution to their Pennsylvania 529 College Savings Program supervised by the Pennsylvania Treasury Department.
A total of 13 winners were chosen from among over 1,800 submissions of students from over 400 schools.
