A Butler Township recreation project is officially open for public use.
The first use of the Butler Township recreation facility at Pullman Business Park was the Butler Area School District boys junior varsity soccer practice Monday afternoon. Both this squad and the girls team are expected to use the facility every weekday.
According to Township Manager Tom Knights, the earliest lights are expected to be used is next month and the township also plans to have portable goal posts available for use for a rugby tournament in earlier November.
The parking area is still gravel and the concession building project is still being finished up but the facility is available for rent at a rate of $55 per hour or $600 per day.
